Paul d’Ivoi, born Paul Charles Philippe Éric Deleutre on October 28, 1856, in Paris, was a prolific French novelist and playwright whose adventurous narratives captured the imagination of a generation. Writing under his pseudonym, he gained prominence for his contributions to the series Les Voyages Excentriques, notably co-authoring works such as Les Cinq Sous de Lavarède with Henri Chabrillat. His stories fused elements of daring escapades, mystery, and humor, often featuring ingenious inventions and exotic settings reminiscent of Jules Verne’s influence while imbuing his own unique style.
