John Stuart Mill (1806 - 1873)
Non-Fiction (Philosophy, Economics)

Mill, a child prodigy educated rigorously by his father James Mill, became a leading utilitarian thinker. His works defended individual freedom, women’s rights (The Subjection of Women), and progressive economics. Mentored by Jeremy Bentham, Mill’s synthesis of empiricism and moral philosophy influenced Western democracy. His advocacy for free speech and social reform remains cornerstone to liberal ideology.
